How to use a 'Download Manager' with MS.
Megashares works with almost all download managers.
Here is a short explanation of how to use a popular FREE download manager called "FlashGet" with our site. Before doing anything else in this tutorial, please be sure you have downloaded (and installed) the latest version of FlashGet from the 'official' site. -> http://www.flashget.com/index_en.htm We also have mirrored the file locally here -> http://d01.megashares.com/dl/c4a04bc/flashget196en.exe -- After you have installed FlashGet you are ready to download a file... First, login to the MegaShares website (http://www.megashares.com) with your account information (username + password). Next, Go to the download page on our site for the link you wish to download. Or, if you have the file saved in your "My Megashares" account you can use the 'direct download link' or the 'URL List view'. Now, If you are using Internet Explorer you can right-click on the "Click here to download" link and select "Download Using FlashGet". In other browsers it might be easier to right-click and copy the link to paste into FlashGet (right-click and select "New Download" from the drop-zone or "New Download" inside the FlashGet application). -- Other download managers mostly work the same way, simply copy and paste the URL from "Click here to download" or the 'direct download link' from My Megashares and paste the URL into your download manager wherever it accepts URLs for downloading. Please note that if you are a premium user, then you do not need to enter your login info into FlashGet. If you are a premium user, and are getting a "Link Expired" error, this is a bug in some downloaders. Do the following to resume the download where it left off... go back to the download page, reload the page, then copy the download link (where it reads "Click here to download" as you did initially) and paste it into the properties area for the download that stopped. -- If you are using our FREE passport service, and have not purchased a premium upgrade, please note the following: If the file itself is over 550MB, you may have to reactivate and renew your FREE passport. You are required to reactivate your FREE passport each time it hits 550MB. FREE passports renew every two hours. That means even if your passport renews and has 550MB available, you can not use it until you reactivate it. You can reactivate a passport by re-visiting the download page where you originally found the link, and entering the CAPTCHA code... then hit the resume button in the download manager and it will pick up directly from where it left off. Also, please note that free users are restricted to 1 download stream and 1 download link at a time. Premium users have no limits on how many downloads, how many streams OR file sizes. -- You can read more about FlashGet on their site: http://www.flashget.com/ and more about download accelerators (aka download managers) here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Download_managers |

You may also want to try -> http://www.jdownloader.org/download/index |

I've been told recently that for MAC users, you can also try "Speed Download".
(NOTE: It hasn't been tested.) |

I follow the free user instructions above but instead of the file download all I get is a index.php file, the download works o.k with the integrated firefox downloader but it's not possible to resume the download to access the rest of the file past the 550+ mark. I have tried I.E as well as other download managers the result is always the same Index php file

I figured it out.... I needed to hit the options tab > Task manager, then add php to the list of auto run files. This seemed to fix my problem for flash get 3.7
